Prominent businessman and humanitarian Modu Turo Darboe demonstrated remarkable benevolence and compassion for those less fortunate by donating indispensable kitchen utensils to Muslims via his organization, the Vision Development Foundation (VDF), commemorating the holy night of Lailatul Qadir with kindness and a charitable spirit.
These cooking items include chicken, cooking oil, sugar, rice, milk, tea, and dates worth over a million dalasi.
This was part of Mr. Darboe’s help to the vulnerable during Ramadan. Before this gesture, he gave thousands of bags of sugar (10 Kilos) to Muslims nationwide, and today, thousands are gathering at the foundation’s office in Churchilltown for a similar gesture.
Beneficiaries who spoke to this reporter expressed appreciation for the work of the VDF in The Gambia.
The day was accompanied by a sugar presentation to National Assembly Members who had not received theirs and to some individuals and institutions.
