Trust Academy are the KMRFA 2022 Women’s League season champions following their narrow 1-nil win over Darboe’s Academy yesterday at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
The win earned them a place in The Gambia Football Federation Women Division Two League.
Darboe’s were the favorite going into the final as they got the better of their opponents in their previous two meetings. However, they had only themselves to blame as they created many chances and enjoyed the large chunk of ball possession. But failed to break the resolute defense line of Trust Academy. The latter stood firm to nullify all the threats imposed on them throughout regulation time.
Ondabedje Rejoice’s second-half strike was enough for the Nema base team to be crown champions and eventually gained promotion to the Second Tier of Gambian football next season.
