Zambian side Green Buffaloes handed Liberian champions Determine Girls a 4-0 thumping in the opening of the CAF Women Champions League.

The Gambian internationals Mbassey Darboe and Ruggy Joof played full throttle in the encounter.

Mbassey moved to Liberia on a loan basis, and the Gambian international was thrown directly into the fray. She becomes the third Gambian to feature in the competition.

“Nobody prays to lose; I have left this game behind me and looking forward to what is coming next,” Mbassey told Alkamba Times.

“I had late preparations because I joined the team one week ago and went straight to camp. I am praying this deal goes beyond here. The bond will strengthen, and I will soon find my feet.” She added.

They will face reigning Tanzanian champions Simba Queens in their next match.
