In a landmark ceremony at the Madiba Mall in Brufut Garden, Mustapha Njie, the CEO of TAF Africa Global, was appointed as the first ambassador of the University of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology (USET). The honorary appointment recognizes Njie’s visionary leadership and dedication to transformative solutions in the real estate sector. As USET’s ambassador, Njie will leverage his extensive expertise and global network to promote the institution’s mission of fostering innovation and education in applied sciences, both in The Gambia and internationally. His role will involve advocating for USET’s objectives, forging strategic partnerships, mobilizing resources, and engaging communities to further the university’s goals.
Ebrima Cham, a member of USET’s Governing Council, praised Njie’s appointment, citing his inspiring journey and alignment with USET’s vision. “Mustapha Njie’s story is one of resilience and innovation,” Cham remarked. “His leadership makes him the ideal candidate to advocate for USET’s mission globally.”

Njie, a Gambian real estate titan with over four decades of experience, founded TAF Africa Global, a leading property developer operating in eight African countries, including The Gambia and Nigeria. Under his stewardship, TAF Africa Global has championed affordable housing, with an ambitious pledge to construct one million homes across sub-Saharan Africa by 2038 to address the continent’s housing crisis. His innovative approach has earned him accolades, including the CNBC/All Africa Business Leaders Awards and the Nigerian Housing Awards.
Expressing gratitude for the honor, Njie reaffirmed his commitment to the role. “I am deeply honored to serve as USET’s ambassador,” he said. “I promise to use my network to fulfill the expectations placed upon me and bridge USET with the wider world.” His appointment is expected to strengthen ties between USET and global stakeholders, fostering collaborations that advance education and sustainable development.
The ceremony, attended by dignitaries and media, highlighted the synergy between Njie’s achievements and USET’s aspirations. By appointing a figure of Njie’s stature, USET aims to amplify its influence and inspire future generations of innovators. This collaboration signals a new chapter for both Njie and USET, promising impactful initiatives that could reshape educational and developmental landscapes in The Gambia and beyond.
Njie’s appointment as USET ambassador adds to his legacy as a trailblazer in African real estate and a champion of progress.
