His Excellency, President Adama Barrow told the people of Lower and Upper Nuimi and Jokadu that under his leadership, his administration will continue to empower the youths through the fisheries sector. He told a gathering at Ndungu Charreh in Lower Nuimi District that government has endorsed a $50M project for the fisheries sector. The project will train youths, provide fishing boats and build storage facilities.
On his health policy, President Barrow disclosed that the government will roll out a National Health Insurance programme in 2022 to ensure affordable access to health care services.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the provision of salaries for Village heads effective January 2022.
The Niumi districts and Jokadu, under the Barrow administration, benefitted from improved road infrastructure such as the Hakalang road, tractors to boost agricultural production, ambulances and availability of safe drinking water through an intervention that established up to 15 boreholes in the district.
