Alagie Mamadi Kurang, one of the rejected Independent candidates, has finally thrown his weight behind longtime opposition leader Halifa Sallah of PDIOS.
In a video announcement on Wednesday evening, Kurang, whose appeal was dismissed by the IEC, said his program and policies are aligned to that of PDIOS, thus his endorsement for Halifa Sallah.
“After several consultations, I have come to general agreement. We all agree that if we have to make to endorsement, the policies, principles, and plans of the party or candidate we going to endorsing is important.
“The competency and vision of the candidate is equally important. We believe that we must have a candidate that can solve economic issues in the country.
“We agree identity of youth for change must be maintained, and we must continue to participate in the coming elections – be it National Assembly or council elections.
“After so many consultations with so many people, I have come to the decision to make. I hereby unconditionally endorsed PDIOS Candidate for President for Dec 4 elections,” he said in the video statement.
