An early afternoon car crash in Foni Kamfenda on the TransGambia highway in the West Coast Region has left scores of passengers with severe injuries on Monday.
The vehicle heading to soma skidded and crashed into a nearby Bush whilst trying to avoid a collision with an approaching motorcycle with a burst tire.
The motorcyclist survived the crash with multiple injuries. The injured passengers were quickly rushed to the Bwiam General Hospital where they are receiving emergency care. No casualties were reported from the accident.
This is the latest among a series of fatal road accidents that have rocked the hinterland and inner-city areas due to poor road networks, inadequate highway lighting, and overspeeding.
