The leader of the Opposition United Democratic Party has called on Gambians irrespective of political affiliation to massively vote for UDP parliamentary candidates across the country on Saturday to reclaim the country from what he describes as the “incompetent Barrow-led government”.

In a statement issued on Wednesday afternoon, the UDP leader said: “With National Assembly Elections scheduled for this Saturday, let’s all go and vote to register our civic duty as citizens of The Gambia. Vote massively for our UDP candidates so that we can reclaim our country from the clutches of the incompetence of the Barrow government; so that we can control the unbearable rising cost of living in the country; so that we can make sure the affairs of the nation are prioritized for the interest of the majority and not just for the connected few. We are at a crossroads and this NA election will determine our future as a nation.”

Gambians head to the polls on Saturday to elect new members of parliament in another crucial vote since last year’s presidential elections that saw incumbent President Adama Barrow winning in what the opposition said were rigged elections.
