Ensa Ceesay, a young entrepreneur from Kudang and the founder and CEO of Alkamba Water Treatment Company, has unveiled his vision to transform the water treatment industry in Gambia through a fusion of innovation, dedication, and a steadfast commitment to quality.

He said his company will provide clean and safe water and help create sustainable solutions in the region’s water industry.

In an interview with TAT, Ensa Ceesay revealed his inspiration behind the water project, which is fueled by modern technology.

“I was inspired by the unique technology to make water pure and drinkable. Learning about this technology, including theory and practical examples, in another country motivated me to venture into the water treatment industry.”

This move by the Kudang-born entrepreneur is necessary for him to return to his homeland and use the skills he learned in Turkey to impact his fellow citizens’ lives positively.

“At Alkamba Water Treatment, We offer a unique water filtration and purification system that sets us apart. Our innovative approach is designed to make life easier for our customers, ensuring they have access to clean and safe water at all times,” he told TAT.

The process used in Alkamba Water Treatment is called “REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER TREATMENT,” which is a water purification process that uses a semi-permeable membrane (synthetic lining) to filter out unwanted molecules and large particles such as contaminants and sediments like chlorine, salt, and dirt from drinking water. The Alkamba water filter mechanism has different features, including Sediment Filter, Granular Activated Carbon, CTO Filter, Membrane, and Post Carbon.

However, he explained the challenges he faces in water treatment. “The service is new in the Gambia, and many people are unfamiliar with water treatment, so it requires a lot of effort to convince people to buy our products and understand their positive impact on their lives.” He continued, “We also face challenges such as lack of access to proper transportation services to reach potential buyers, lack of proper social media advertisement, and inadequate funding that the business needs.”

Ensa Ceesay’s Alkamba Water Treatment envisions a future where every Gambian can access pure drinking water, promoting health, reducing environmental pollution, and preventing diseases. Our goal is not just to revolutionize water treatment but to transform lives. We plan to expand our production and manufacture our products locally, introducing a range of services that cater to the diverse needs of our people.

Ensa Ceesay’s Akamba Water Treatment is a beacon of innovation and progress, offering water and hope for a healthier and more sustainable future for all Gambians.
