The Champions of The Gambia Schools Football Association’s U-17 female football championship, Kinderdorf Bottrop Technical Upper and Senior Secondary School, are set to go to Rabat, Morocco, to represent The Gambia at the International School Sports Federation World School Football Competition.
The Kinderdorf Bottrop Technical Upper and Senior Secondary School girls, under the tutelage of their Head Coach, Fakebba Saine, will leave the shores of The Gambia on Wednesday, 21st July 2023, with 16 players and two officials.
Fakebba Saine, the Head Coach of Kinderdorf Bottrop Technical Upper and Senior Secondary School girls, said his girls would try to give a respectable performance despite this is will be the first time the school will participate in an international tournament.
“This will be the first time we will play in the World School Football Competition, but it does not mean. It doesn’t mean my girls will relent. We will do our best to give a performance every Gambian will be proud of.
Experience-wise, some of our players have previously traveled with the Gambia women’s junior teams. So we will bang on our little International exposure and with the determination Bottrop girls are known for to try if we could do something extraordinary,” Fakebba Saine said.
The Kinderdorf Bottrop Technical gaffer thanks the Ministry Of Basic and Secondary Education (MOBSE) and The School Football Authorities for facilitating traveling to Rabat, Morroco, for the World School Football Competition.
“My gratitude to MOBSE for taking care of all our traveling issues, especially for facilitating all our necessary documents and the intermediary they have done on our behalf. I will also thank the Gambia Secondary School Sports for the advice and support,” He said.
The International School Sports Federation World School Football Competition is scheduled from the 22nd to the 31st of July,2023, in Rabat, Morocco.
