The Kanifing Magistrates’ Court has entered judgment in favor of Marabi Salam Camara against Ferreh Lulu Properties, following a civil claim arising from an alleged failed land transaction involving D800,000.
Magistrate B. Sowe delivered the judgment on September 3, 2026, in Suit No. KMC/CS/275/2026. Court records show that Camara brought the action through his attorney, Nuha Bojang.
According to testimony before the court, Camara became interested in purchasing land after being introduced to Ferreh Lulu Properties. The evidence stated that Lamin Ceesay, described during the proceedings as a director of the company and a former Police Officer, communicated with the prospective buyer about land offered for sale.
The plaintiff’s case was that the parties eventually agreed to purchase land for D800,000, payable in four monthly installments of D200,000. The plaintiff maintained that the full amount was paid but that the promised land ownership documents were not subsequently provided.
The court admitted into evidence the April 18, 2026 sales agreement as Exhibit A2 and four receipts relating to the payments as Exhibit A3.
Evidence was also presented concerning a D750,000 cheque allegedly issued by the defendant’s company after the plaintiff sought a refund. The court heard that attempts to cash the cheque were unsuccessful. The court admitted the cheque into evidence as Exhibit A4.
The plaintiff asked the court to recover the full D800,000, maintaining that the transaction had caused him financial loss. The court record shows that the defendant was absent during the hearings despite hearing notices and an affidavit of service being presented to the court.
In her judgment, Magistrate Sowe said the plaintiff’s evidence stood unchallenged because the defendant did not appear to contest the case or explain his absence.
The court consequently entered judgment against Ferreh Lulu Properties for D800,000, together with D20,000 in costs and an additional litigation-cost award recorded in the judgment.
