Minteh scores against the Magpies; Sowe, Jatta, and Jawo’s goal galore continues.
Yankuba Minteh was on target for Brighton against Newcastle as the Seagulls reached the Emirates Quarter finals. Ali Sowe scored his sixth consecutive league goal as Alassana Jatta tops the League One golden boot race. Muhammed Sanneh and Mohammed Samba were all crowned Super Cup champions over the weekend, while Musa Barrow came off the bench to score a brace for Al Taawoun.

England

Notts County dug deep to secure a point following their 2-2 draw against Fleetwood. Alassana Jatta’s late equalizer earned them a point on what transpired to be a frustrating afternoon on the Lancashire coast. The goal against Fleetwood is Jatta’s 16th league goal.

Danny Welbeck’s extra-time goal earned Albion a place in the FA Cup quarterfinals as they came from behind to beat Newcastle in a thriller at St James’ Park.

Germany
Abdoulie Ceesay had his best involvement yet (17 minutes) since joining FC St. Pauli during their 2-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga on Saturday. He won 2 tackles, 2 recoveries, 2 duels, and 3 accurate passes with 10 touches.

Turkey
Ali Sowe has equaled his personal record from the 2018/2019 season with KF Skënderbeu when he scored seven goals in four matches. Sowe has now scored seven goals in the last six matches in a row. The Gambian international was on target for Caykur Rizespor against Alanyaspor. Out of Ali’s 13 league goals, six were scored in front of the home fans.

Switzerland
Ebrima Colley returned to the starting XI for the first time since 25th January against Grasshopper. While Adama Bojang maintained his position, Bojang went on to assist Sonny Kittel in the 49th minute to seal a much-needed victory against Young Boys.

Sweden
Mjällby AIK needed a single point against Halmstad, but however, they ended up beating Halmstad 3-0 with Abdoulie Manneh breaking the deadlock in the 59th minute, his second goal of the tournament.

Estonia
The Estonian Premium Liiga 2025/2026 kicks off over the weekend with defending champions Levadia winning 5-0. Bubacarr Tambedou, who scored in the Super Cup, was handed a start and lasted for 64 minutes against Harju JK. Paide secured a late win thanks to Liom’s winner in the 93rd minute. Ebrima Jarju made three crucial saves, but he was beaten by Iljin in the 92nd minute to deny the Gambian netminder a clean sheet on the opening day.

Czech Republic
Lamin Jawo, Gambian forward, continues to impress on loan in FK Jablonec colors in the Czech Republic Chance Liga (top tier) as he scored in Jablonec’s 1-1 draw against Hradec Kralove on Saturday. Jawo now scored four times in a row for Jablonec, and he is just three goals away from reaching his personal best goal-scoring season of 7 goals in 30 matches.

Saudi Pro League

Musa Barrow came off the bench to inspire Al Taawoun to a 2-1 win over Al Fateh. Barrow scored the leveler four minutes after he was introduced and went on to snatch the winner in the added time, taking his tally to 12 league goals as he scored thrice against Al Fateh this season.

Super Cup winner

Muhammed Sanneh played the entire 120 minutes as his club, FK Abdysh-Ata Kant, edged Muras United Dzhalal-Abad 4-3 on penalties. This is the Gambian second international trophy.

In the Faroe Islands, Mohammed Samba was an unused substitute as HB Tórshavn edged Vikingur 2-0 to win their fifth Super Cup.
