Abdoulai Njai returned to action in Denmark after his injury layoff. The Gambian prospect had 45 minutes under his belt against SönderjyskE in the Danish second tier over the weekend as they drew goalless.

He told TAT Sports that he is elated to be back and will go all out in helping his team.

“It is a great feeling to be back playing again at the stadium in front of the fans; I have been missing that. But that is what I have been working for since my injury in August. So it is a blessing to be back contributing to the team again after a good run this season,” He indicated.

Njai extended his contract and believes he has unfinished business at Tintshop Park.

“Yes, I have chosen to extend my contract with Næstved. I had a great season last year and a good start at the beginning of this season before I got injured, so I believe that the good work I have been putting in was part of their decision to offer me a new contract even though I was injured”.

Næstved currently sits in third position and remains hopeful of a promotion.

“We have a great team pushing at the top of the league. So I want to come back and deliver a good end for this season by contributing with goals and assist for the team. I have grown a lot from this injury, and I’m grateful to be back doing what I love to do.”

The right midfield born in Copenhagen is among the Gambian players playing in Denmark.

“A couple of Gambians are playing in Denmark now, and it is great to see. You can see them developing positively by adding the European structure to their game and bringing it to the national team.

It would be an honor for me to represent the scorpions as I’ve always shown love for them. Being brought up by the European mentality of the game and having the culture of my Gambian roots in my playing style, I can contribute with something good. I am available for the coach, so the choice is his.”
