The Nawettan tournament has reached a thrilling stage, with the group stage concluding and the round of 16 fixtures set to kick off.

Defending league winners and Super Cup champions, Ron Mango FC, suffered a shocking exit after failing to win any matches in their group. Despite a goalless draw against Yaffa FC, Ron Mango’s campaign came to an end, leaving their fans stunned.

RongMango is one of the strongest sides in Bakau local Nawettan,  won the knock- out cup in 2023, and last year won the league and clinched the Super Cup this year.

Abdoulie Dibba is the head coach of Ron Mango fc, Dibba believes that the team didn’t have a good start.

He assured the fans that they would go all out in  the knockout cup.

“We have learned a lot, we have seen that we have some errors at the start of our two games. We will retify it and compensate our poor form with a trophy.”

On the other hand, Lunibourg FC bounced back strongly after losing the Super Cup final, topping their group standings ahead of Bremen FC, Wasulung, and Senior Lions. Red Stars and Inter Bakau also progressed to the round of 16.

The Derby between  Zuwa fc and Lingure fc  ended 1-1 with  Zuwa having the advantage as they advance to the round of 16. Finishing on top of the table ahead of  Mata Bi and Farokono.

Milco World Sport led group E, followed by Fajara United (6pts) and M Section (3points) while  Samtom relegated with one point.

Six & One recorded a 100% win with nine points topping Group A and being the first team to qualify for the round of 16. Fajara Barrack grabbed 6 points.

Group D, the group of death, has seen drama unfold as both Bantangkoto and Katchikally were equal on point. However, Bantangkoto edged them on the margins of goals, placing them on top.

United boys took the 3rd position,  leaving Vidar at the bottom of the group with a single point.

In group C, Kansala topped the standings with 5 points followed by Depo Lions Star,  who also recorded 5 points but a difference in goals. Fajara South secured only 4 point,  but it was not enough to book them a ticket to the round of 16.

The stage is now set for the round of 16, with the following fixtures:
