The Gambia Face Chad In 2023 AFCON Preliminary Qualifier


Scorpions of The Gambia are drawn against Chad in the preliminary qualifiers of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in a draw held in Cameroon on Friday 21st January 2022.

The two teams will play a double legged tie with the eventual winners advancing to the group stages of the 2023 AFCON qualifying rounds.

The first leg of the encounter will be played in Chad in March 2022, with the return leg to take place in Banjul on a date to be determined by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Chad has never qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations while the Gambia are making their maiden appearance in the 2021 edition in Cameroon.
