The nongovernmental organization Vision Development Foundation has delivered a massive consignment of food items to government institutions and local communities as part of its annual support for the population during the holy month of Ramadan. For example, 1,500 10kg bags of sugar were presented to 19 institutions and communities across the country.
The Gambia’s leading philanthropist, Momodou Turo Darboe, delivered a massive consignment of sugar to public sector establishments and grassroots communities as his vision development foundation rolled out its annual Ramadan support to needy people. Nineteen institutions and communities across the country are beneficiaries.
The distribution mainly aims to assist the vulnerable and workers in public sector institutions. It complements government efforts by intervening and helping communities during the holy month to address their needs.
Mr. Saihou Fofana, public relations officer of Vision Development Foundation, hailed the distribution as a significant milestone, noting that the foundation has dedicated its services to supporting needy and underprivileged communities.
Representatives of beneficiary institutions and communities thanked the foundation for the kind gesture, commending Mr Darboe for always prioritizing vulnerable Gambians.
