The GFF First and Second Divisions transfer window closed with some intriguing signings. Clubs have recalled loan players, while some clubs had players who were injured throughout the first-round back. New signings have hit the ground running with some goals and assists during the FA Cup tie and first match of the second, with both Muhammed Badjie and Sarjo Bojang scoring against Fortune & GAF.

Hamadi Kebbeh, the football scout and analyst behind the Space GFF Player of the Month, shed some light on the signings of BST Galaxy and Fortune FC.

“The signings are very good, especially the BST Galaxy capture of Modou Lamin Fofana. He is one of my best players in the league, and I don’t know why the Armed Forces let him go. He is a very good footballer, together with Momodou Fadera, on loan from Fortune FC.” Kebbeh mentioned

“Muhammed Jallow is a good addition to Fortune; he is second to none; only Yankuba Minteh is better than him on the wings; he is a good dribbler. They did the best signing in Muhammed. It will help them boast their attacking force; they were struggling, and all the players playing there were strikers.”

“All the clubs brought in players they needed; if you look at Fortune, their wide players aren’t delivering. BST has sold a lot of players and needed to bring in replacements in order to keep themselves in the league.”

Marimoo started the season brightly but slammed into poor form.

Marimoo have been struggling since their bright start, which saw them maintain the top five in the first weeks of the league. A sudden blip of form saw them go 11 games without a win and 990 minutes without a goal before Modou Manneh scored his lone goal against Waa Banjul on week 18.

The Marimoo coach is pleased to welcome back Foday Sanyang, Muhammed Cham, and captain Ebrima Senghore.

“We believe the players we adjusted for in the second round can help us. We have adjusted some experience, and some of the of the young ones that you know are coming from the feeder team. We believe we will see changes, and from that adjustment, we have brought in seven new players.”

“We had some players who got injured during the preseason, and that included one of our key players. Our former captain is back,” he added.

TMT and Wallidan had a busy window, with both registering almost seven players each. TMT welcomes back Modou Lamin Demba, while the Falcons have former Armed Forces striker Adama Jammeh in their ranks following an unsuccessful stint at CasaSports. BST, apart from Modou Lamin Fofana, brought in versatile and experienced midfielder Bubacarr Jarju, formerly of RS Tallinding, and Kartong-born winger Musa Njie. 2021 GFF leading goalscorer Saikouba Ceesay has returned to the First division and this time he will be leading the line of Fortune.
