The Leader of the turnaround/Sobeyaa movement, Essa Mabye Faal has expressed his total disappointment with way and manner he and his team are being treated by the incumbent President Adama Barrow’s NPP after he claimed before journalists that his campaign is being politically sabotaged.
Faal, a lawyer turned politician is the latest presidential hopeful to appear before the Independent Electoral Commission to submit his credentials for consideration.
“Its a historic day. The young men and women are speaking loudly and they want change. Everywhere around the country people are chanting about their distrust of this government, dissatisfied about the terrible state of this country. This why I am standing here today for those people chanting for change,’ Faal told Journalists shortly after submitting his credentials.
Mr Faal said the democratic dispensation in the Gambia has been shackled by an unpopular NPP government.
“We will trim you down come December 4,’ the former TRRC Leader Counsel said apparently referring to President Barrow’s NPP.
According to Faal, December 4 will be the beginning of a new dawn for the Gambia.
“You think you spoiled our nomination but you have strengthened our determination to take back this country,” Essa said adding that his team knew all along that the government will sabotage their campaign.
We knew they have been sabotaging our campaign. We beat them all over the Gambia. We had contracted the Gambian Transport Union, we ordered 200 buses and 53 mini vans. They doubled the money so that the drivers will not ferry our supporters to the nomination ground, Faal alleges.
He promised to make public his assets after declaring them.
“I will make it public,’ he told Journalists adding that: ‘I want make this country to be a safe place for investment.’
