Goalscoring form was the major talking point for Gambian players abroad this weekend, with several forwards finding the back of the net across Europe. While the attackers grabbed the headlines, goalkeeper Ebrima Jarju also played a crucial role with a series of important saves for Paide.
The clash between FCI Levadia and Nõmme Kalju ended in dramatic fashion as both sides scored deep into stoppage time to share the points.
Gambian forward Bubacarr Tambedou opened the scoring with a brilliant backheel finish before substitute Daniil Tarassenkov rescued a point for the visitors with a late equalizer. Despite the draw, Levadia extended their lead at the top of the Premium Liiga to 13 points after FC Flora suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Paide.
Tambedou continues his impressive campaign, taking his tally to 12 league goals in 16 appearances. The striker was influential throughout the match, creating a clear chance in the opening five minutes that was squandered by a teammate. He also had a goal ruled out and missed a penalty in the 78th minute.
Meanwhile, Abdourahman Badamoesi scored his second league goal of the season as Paide secured an important 2-1 away victory over FC Flora.
Badamoesi leveled the score in the 38th minute after capitalizing on a defensive blunder. The forward collected the loose ball, rounded the goalkeeper and calmly slotted home with his left foot.
At the other end, Gambian goalkeeper Ebrima Jarju recovered well after conceding in the fourth minute, producing four excellent saves in the second half to help Paide hold on for victory. The win strengthened Paide’s grip on third place in the standings and dealt a significant blow to Flora’s title hopes.
Lativa
Riga FC registered their 15th league win of the season with an emphatic 4-1 victory over FK Liepāja.
Gambian forward Abdoulie Badamoesi played his part in the win, doubling Riga’s advantage from the penalty spot. The goal took his tally to 13 league goals for the campaign, further underlining his importance to the title-chasing side.
The strike was also Badamoesi’s fifth home league goal of the season, as he continued his impressive scoring form in front of the Riga faithful.
Sweden
Suwaibou Kebbeh scored his third league goal of the season for GIF Sundsvall. The Gambian forward found the net in the 92nd minute, although it proved to be a consolation goal in a match that Sundsvall heavily lost.
In the Ettan Norra, Nfansu Dibba came to IF Karlstad’s rescue with a late equalizer as they salvaged a point against Assyriska FF. The former Hart FC midfielder continues to settle well into life in Sweden, with the goal marking his second league strike since joining the club.
Slovakia
In Slovakia, Assan Corr enjoyed an excellent start to preseason preparations with DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda. The former Real de Banjul forward came off the bench to score twice in DAC’s preseason victory over Šamorín.
Corr made 11 appearances for the Slovak side last season and will be hoping to earn a bigger role during the upcoming campaign. His brace in the opening preseason fixture is a strong statement as he looks to increase both his playing time and goal contribution in 2026/27.
