Young Gambian Star Extends Contract with Italian Seria A Club AS Roma

Having impressed new manager Jose Mourinho, Gambian youngster Ebrima Darboe has signed a three-year contract extension at Italian Seria A side AS Roma.

Darbo’s new deal will see the 20-year-old defensive midfielder remain a Giallorossi player until 2026, the club announced.

The Gambian born midfielder made his Serie A debut last July under former manager Paulo Fonseca.

He has been quite impressive since the arrival of the Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho who also joined the club on a three-year contract.

This new contract extension is a reward for his commitment and hard work to excel at one of Italy’s biggest clubs Roma who have participated ath every level of Italian top tier football excluding the 1951–52 season.

Roma have won Serie A three times, in 1941–42, 1982–83 and 2000–01, as well as nine Coppa Italia titles and two Supercoppa Italiana.

The 20-year-old Gambian midfielder is one of the possible midfield options for the Gambia national team who continue preparations ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations set to start on January 9th 2022 in Cameroon.
