“As an African child, I see it as a responsibility to promote our culture to the rest of the world especially those who haven’t gotten the chance to travel to this part of the world,” Zina told The Alkamba Times
The young Artist believes Africa has a rich and unique culture which makes it easy to craft great ideas into captivating images.
From fascinating images painted on sophisticated surfaces and patterns, Zina launches a prodigious arts exhibition dubbed “Musoor”, a devoted collection of arty gems showcasing the pride of African women.
Zina’s family, friends, and art lovers graced the painter’s exhibition at the Black Magique Bistro and Café.
“Musoor” is the Wolof name for a headwrap, widely used by African women in a variety of styles for different occasions.
The “Musoor” is an integral part of women’s attire in Africa with the headcover marking different fashion choices. Zina used the Musoor as a distinct symbol for his creations.
The young artistic prodigy said, “Africa is rich in colors, patterns, and shapes which convey interesting images and stories on canvas”.
Paintings bring immense value to the tourism sector, setting a unique connection between tourists and Gambian culture.
His artworks can be spotted in fancy restaurants and different other places in the metropolis.
Possessing a remarkable flair, Zina’s artistry provokes the older generation to reflect and reminisce on the past as the young move to appreciate African culture.
Zina Zoker dreams of traveling around the world to exhibit his unique artworks around the world alongside operating a gigantic art gallery.
The young painter craves more support for art to enhance emerging talents in the creative industry which is inspiring and drawing the best from young Gambians.
