Modou NSZ Njie, one of The Gambia’s most influential technology entrepreneurs, has unveiled his highly anticipated memoir, Roots & Circuits: A Memoir of Purpose, Persistence, and Provision. The book chronicles his remarkable journey from humble beginnings in The Gambia to becoming a trailblazer at the crossroads of African tradition and digital innovation.
In the memoir, Njie explores what it means to build lasting institutions in a challenging environment where opportunities are often limited. Growing up deeply rooted in faith, family, and the rhythms of the land, he was captivated early by technology’s potential to transform a continent long overlooked by the global community.
The narrative traces his founding of N-Web Plus in 2003 – one of The Gambia’s first indigenous ICT companies – which has since delivered technology solutions to key sectors including agriculture, health, banking, tourism, and law. Njie further details his creation of Farm Fresh, an online food delivery platform, and Money Farm, an agricultural crowdfunding initiative that connects investors with local farmers, putting food on tables and capital directly into rural hands.
