The Kora Boys, Jaliba United beat the ever-green Sky Power FC 5-3 on post-match penalty shootouts following a barren draw in regulation time to reach the Brikama Sports Committee’s final Nawettan proper.
Jaliba United, under the leadership of coach Foday Jaiteh so far proven to be the team to beat in this year’s Nawettan as they have reached both the Knockout and the League proper finals. The Kora boys are unbeaten and are posted to win both finals bear upsets.
Jaliba United will play the Knockout final against Touray’s Academy in a repeat of Group B’s encounter when they played a scintillating 1-1 draw. At the same time, they will face Kabafita United in the League Final.
Foday Jaiteh, the coach of Jaliba United, told The Alkamba Times Sports that he has what it takes to make history by winning the first-ever double for the Kora boys.
“We are taking it game by game, and we will give our best to win both finals; that’s our objective. We have the players and the fans behind us and a strong board, so we believe in ourselves and that we can do it. So we will try our utmost best to win the double,” Foday Jaiteh said.
