Liverpool and Senegal forward Sadio Mané has told The Gambia national team players not to be scared when playing football.

Mané makes this remarks after Gambia’s woeful performance against the host Cameroon in the AFCON quarter-finals.

“Well done be proud of yourself and have the courage to play don’t be scared in football there is no big team or small team, is 11 men vs 11 men”, Mané told reporters.

Further delving into the Gambia’s 2 – 0 defeat against Cameroon, the super start said he thinks a lot of things went wrong. “I am not a coach but I think many things went wrong for them against Cameroon, I can’t go into details sorry.”

The iconic Bambali Village-born player said his wish was a Senegambian final.

” I am personally sad that The Gambia is out, I wanted a Senegambian final. The Gambia has done well, I was watching their game against Cameroon and I was supporting them, Gambia is my second home”, he added.

The Scorpions of the Gambia were beaten by Cameroon in a game where they showed panic and envious nastiness throughout and the Indomitable Lions capitalise and moved closer to the title after a Toko Ekambi’s brace
