Serekunda East & Lamin have named their zonal coaches ahead of December 2022 competition. As a result, East & Brikama will engage in super nawettan preseason ahead of next month’s contest.
Prominent former Gambia U17 & U20 star Alagie Amadou Ngum has been appointed as Serekunda East head coach with Bakary Danso (Leeds Utd gaffer), Ebrima Sarjo(Falcons FC) Yaya Jallow(Gk trainer) and Ebrima Sanyang (of Medina Utd) as part of his Technical team.
Both Bakary Danso & Yaya Jallow played for East in the Zonals; whiles Alagie Ngum won the championship twice as a player.
The former Gamtel FC interim coach told TAT Sports is an arduous task ahead, and he is ready for it.
“It’s a big task; the east side is huge. Forty-two teams and being appointed as the head coach is something massive. But, on the technical side, if we work together, it will be straightforward for us, ” He said.
“I believe and trust the technical side; they know the game and are doing very well in coaching. East is among the key producers regarding young talents, and the zone is back to life. Lots of talented players. I am happy; I have been scouting day in and day out. We have to believe in ourselves. Kombo East, there is hope with the way progress is being made and the materials that we have at hand.”
Meanwhile, the Kombo north team, Lamin, has appointed Modou Ndow (Cabla) as their gaffer. The journeyman with three caps with the national team is the current coach of SCOTG FC & Lamin Utd’s third division team.
“Cabla” has been involved in grassroots football at the community level and says he is happy that he has given the kids a purpose and taken them away from the street full of drugs and crime.
“The kids are mature now, and many teams are in sight. The kids have the focus and concentration in football. They have a purpose that something is coming for them.”
The gaffer was selected from the submitted list of coaches who applied for the job, and he is ready to put Lamin on the country’s football map.
“It came at the right time; everything has its appointed time. I am proud of Lamin, and it’s a community thing. Whatever I have achieved in football, it’s through my community. I want to give back to my community. I am ready to develop the players to the next level.”
” Lamin is behind, and we have a lot to give to the game,” Cabla told TAT Sports.
