Brikama United Football Club secured their first three points at home in the Gambia Football Federation Division 1 league 2022/2023 season courtesy of a 2-0 victory over the academy boys, Samger Football Club.

The Satayba boys took the lead as early as the 3rd minute when Sainey Bojang cleverly finished a brilliant play from the satayba boys. However, Sainey’s forward partner, Mustapha Drammeh, ensures that the match is beyond the reach of the academy boys with a clinical finish in the 21st minute.

Brikama United’s 2-0 mauling of the academy boys was just their second victory of the season; the first was a 3-1 win over Greater Tomorrow Academy away in the satayba derby.

The Brikama United assistant, coach Ansumana Jallow praises his young defense for keeping their opponents at bay in their last two outings. Brikama United kept a clean sheet in their nail-biting barren draw away to Gamtel Gamcel Football Club and their 2-0 battering of Samger Football Club.

“It is a process because If you look at the defense line, you will see young players who never played in the first division, but we need to trust them and give them that chance to play, and game by game, and they will improve. As you can see in our last two matches, we do not concede, and we can score two goals,” Jallow said in a post-match interview with The Alkamba Times Sports.

The Brikama United assistant coach, Ansumana Jallow, pleaded with the satayba fans to keep patience as he forecasted that results would continue to come their way with time.

Elsewhere, Gamtel- Gamcel Football team compounds Fortune Football Club’s woes by condemning them to a third successive defeat with a 2-1 win over the Petroleum boys.

Banjul United continues their fine run on form with a scintillating 2-1 win over the khaki boys, Gambia Armed Forces FC.
