Global Properties on Wednesday officially opened The Global Tower, the tallest commercial building in the country and the company’s new headquarters, in a grand ceremony led by President Adama Barrow.

The milestone event, held on June 10, 2026, drew senior government officials, cabinet ministers, prominent business leaders, and young entrepreneurs to the modern 10-story structure in Kotu. Designed as a state-of-the-art business hub, the tower aims to boost productivity, collaboration, and innovation in The Gambia’s growing commercial sector.

Speaking at the inauguration, President Barrow praised the achievement as a powerful symbol of Gambian entrepreneurship and national ambition. “This development demonstrates what local businesses can accomplish through discipline, integrity, and commitment to national development,” he said.

The President highlighted Global Properties’ success as proof that Gambian enterprises can compete on the global stage when supported by a conducive business environment. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to policies that promote investment, innovation, and sustainable growth nationwide.

Barrow described the tower as more than just a building, calling it a celebration of Gambian talent, leadership, and vision. He noted its importance to the architectural and economic landscape of Kotu and surrounding communities, urging citizens to draw inspiration from the project.

“The Global Tower reflects our country’s capacity to overcome challenges and achieve great things through unity and determination,” the President told the audience.

For Global Properties, the inauguration marks a significant step in its growth and a major contribution to The Gambia’s real estate sector. Company officials view the tower as a bold statement of confidence in the nation’s future and a catalyst for further private-sector investment.

The opening of The Global Tower comes at a time when The Gambia is seeking to strengthen its position as an emerging business destination in West Africa. Observers say the project underscores the increasing role of local entrepreneurs in driving infrastructure development and job creation.
