A German-based Gambian migrant rights activist, Yahya Sonko, has confirmed to the Alkamba Times the killing of a 23-year-old Gambian man in Germany on Thursday, March 23, 2023.
The deceased Basirou Jallow, a native of Bundung in the Kanifing Municipality of the Gambia, was reportedly stabbed to death by an unknown person who is said to be at large.
“It happened today, Thursday; an unknown person stabbed Basirou on the run. The Police are currently in charge of the situation,” Yahya told TAT.
This latest event happened less than 72 hours following the killing of another young Gambian man who was announced in the United States of America after being shot by a gun-woman.
Meanwhile, Sonko said the Police in Germany had intensified their search for the killer of Basioru and promised to find the person in soonest.
“They are thoroughly searching for him. There are helicopters and police cops deployed everywhere looking for him. As of that, they still cannot see him. They promised to get him,” Sonko said.
In a similar case, the immigrant activist also confirmed to TAT the ultimate death of another Gambian man called “Chatty,” which occurred on the same day in Weil der Stadt City, Germany.
“Chatting, according to close sources, he is from Banjul. He was found bleeding through his nose, and they called for an emergency, but due to the seriousness of his situation, he could not make it,” Sonko confirmed.
Mr. Sonko urged the public to share the information on Basirou and Chatty’s deaths to locate their families on arrangements for their burials.
