Gambian National Under 20 and Fortune Football Club’s right full-back, Bakary Jawara, has completed his move from the Petroleum boys to the PK Pohronie in a year loan deal with an option to sign the Gambian international.
The 20-year-old has been unveiled as a new PK Pohronie player this morning.
The youngster played for the Gambia youth teams of all categories, including the recent FIFA Under 20 World Cup in Argentina, and is the fourth player from Gambian First Division team Fortune Football Club this year.
After seeing off another of his players to Europe, the President of Fortune Football Club, Mr. Assan S. Ndure, expressed delight, noting that the club is delighted to have signed this deal, availing opportunities for the youngster to explore. He described Bakery as an ambitious and hardworking player who has the potential to become one of the country’s best right-backs.
“Nothing delights me as a club president more than seeing my players leaving for professional contracts in Europe. As a club, we have been giving much preference to helping these players accomplish their dreams of becoming professional footballers.
“Bakary is a player with a vast talent. He could become one of the best right-backs in the country. We hope this move will be the beginning of brighter days for him,” Assan commented.
Bakary Jawara joined Fortune Football Club at a young age and has since then played in every youth category for the Gambia.
He was among the few players who played every game for the Gambia national U20 team in Argentina’s recent FIFA World Cup. PK Pohronie is a football club playing in the Slovakian national league.
Bakary, young but with vast international experience, is expected to help the team register success this season.
The club wishes one of its best players lately a successful adventure in Europe as a player.
