As the holy month of Ramadan progresses, the impact of the benevolence extended by the Momodou Turo Darboe Vision Development Foundation continues to grow, touching the hearts and minds of people nationwide with its kindness and compassion.
The latest beneficiaries include 31 institutions and individuals nationwide, including All-Area Councils and Municipalities. They were each given 50 (10 Kilos) bags to share among the less fortunate in their Communities as part of a charitable organization’s initiative to support vulnerable populations.
Each National Assembly member received 75 bags (10 kilos) to share in their constituency.
Saikou Fofana, the Public Relations Officer of Vision Development Foundation (VDF), urges beneficiaries to distribute sugar accordingly, especially to those in need.
Mr. Fofana spoke during the sixth-phase sugar distribution of thousand seven hundred ten bags (10 Kilos) and other items to communities at the Foundation’s Branch Office in Churchill’s Town.
“This sugar we are delivering today is a gift from our CEO, Mr. Momodou Turo Darboe. The objective is to give it to people who cannot afford it because they need it most.”
He added, “Unfortunately, many institutions and organizations have received sugar, but up to date, people are calling us that they don’t receive any sugar. Nobody needs to keep these 10 Kilos to yourself because it is not meant for you. We are appealing to all of you who have collected and are yet to collect: please, when you receive this sugar, go and distribute it to people so that next time you come, we can continue our partnership and other important projects.”
“But if it’s well distributed and we receive feedback and a letter of appreciation, it will motivate us and give us the courage to do more.”
The twice-weekly gesture is part of the foundation’s annual sugar campaign, where they distribute sugar to the less privileged in communities who cannot afford it during the holy month of Ramadan.
Hon. Ismaila Jallow, Vice Chairman of Brikama Area Council, thanked VDF for considering the people of the West Coast and added that they will do as advised by PRO and give it to people in need in the region.
