Abdoulie Drammeh, a taxi driver and resident of Brikama Nema who allegedly drove Ousainou Bojang and Amie Bojang, suspected of shooting police officers Pateh M. Jallow and Sang J. Gomez on Tuesday testified before Justice Ebrima Jaiteh of the high court in Banjul explaining in detail how he recognized, Ousainou Bojang and Amie Bojang who are alleged of killing the police officers.
In his brief testimony, Mr. Drammeh recalled being hired by Amie Bojang to drive her to Brufut, where they picked up the first accused, Ousainou Bojang, for Brikama.
He asserted that upon their arrival at Brikama, the first accused (Amie Bojang) told the second accused (Ousainou Bojang) to take a car from the garage. He said that Mr. Bojang told her he was advised by a police officer not to go to a public place.
“The second accused (Amie Bojang) told me to drive them to Darsilimah. Upon our arrival, we stopped at a bicycle mechanic, and then the second accused alighted from the vehicle. Later, Ousainou Bojang took a motorcycle, and then I returned to Brikama with Amie Bojang,” Mr. Drammeh, the state’s ninth witness, told the court.
Further establishing his role in the matter, the witness testified that Amie Bojang boarded a taxi and proceeded to his work upon their return to Brikama.
However, he finally told the presiding judge, Justice Jaiteh, that he could not remember the date but believed it was eight months ago.
