Basse Police are currently investigating a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a 60-year-old man from Kerewan Badala in the Upper River Region (URR). The incident allegedly involves the victim’s 25-year-old son.
According to the Gambia police force preliminary findings, the assault occurred on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Due to the severity of the injuries sustained, the victim was transported to Basse Hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Thursday.
The police have arrested the suspect and recovered the alleged murder weapon from the scene. The suspect is currently in police custody and is cooperating with the investigation.
Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any unusual incidents to the nearest police station as the investigation continues.
