Independent Presidential hopeful Essa Faal told a huge gathering of supporters in his first inner city rally that his team is ever determined to salvage Gambia from the clutches of the current state of affairs if given the chance to lead the country in the December 4 presidential elections.
Addressing a massive gathering at the Buffer Zone meeting, the lawyer turned politician told cheering supporters and loyalists that the costs of living, youth unemployment and crime are on the rise but an Essa faal led government will turn things around for the welfare of all Gambians.
The former lead counsel of the truth commission mobilized hundreds of people at the Buffer Zone rally which is part of a series of political showpieces his campaign earmarked to reach the population ahead of the crucial December polls.
“The love is real, Thank you Gambia,’ the visibly happy Essa told supporters before decrying the country’s high cost of living saying the situation is ‘painful’.
He used the gathering to call on other opposition parties to join his campaign.
“We will tour the country and tell people what’s happening. We will invite other political parties to come and join us and all of us will work together in reversing the problem we have here to achieve a turnaround,” He said.
‘What’s happening in the country is terrible’, Mr. Faal told his supporters saying the love shown to him and his team demonstrates the love Gambian youths have for him.
Kitabu Fatty, a comedian turned politician who threw his weight behind Essa Faal after previously announcing his intention to contend in the December polls urged the electorate to vote for Essa for a better and prosperous Gambia.
He called on youths to rally behind Mr Fall describing him as the most competent candidate for the office of the president noting the unaffordable prices of basic commodities skyrocketing daily, which he attributed to the government’s poor policies.
Isatou Manneh, a youth leader addressing the gathering assured Essa Faal of young people’s resolve to work with him towards a fair, inclusive and just Gambia.
