The briefing, conducted by the Gambia Football Federation’s newly hired Integrity Officer, Lawyer Abdourahman Bah is part of a series of integrity measures put in place to combat corruption, match manipulation, match-fixing, gambling, and betting during the tournament.
In his briefing witnessed by GFF top officials, players, and support staff, Bah drew the attention of the delegation to the integrity principles of FIFA and CAF as embodied in the FIFA and CAF disciplinary codes and penalty for their violations.
He said Caf has initiated Penalties including a fine of USD 25,000, suspension from football activities, and life bans for participating in match-fixing, corruption, and gambling.
“ The players and the entire delegation are prohibited by the codes from betting, directly or indirectly,” the former state prosecutor told the briefing.
