The head coach of league leaders Real De Banjul in The Gambia Football Federation Division One League Bai Malleh Wadda, has vowed to develop the level of football throughout the country with his Real De Banjul FC side.
“It is clear that teams always prepare themselves immensely whenever they are to play against Real. I am not surprised by that, and that is a good thing because that will help to develop football in the country as both coaches and players will be strengthened to go extra in their preparation. Part of my philosophy as a coach is not only to build a good team for my club but to develop football in general throughout the country and I believe I am on the right track,” Bai said.
The Real De Banjul coach also said he is hopeful his side will win the GFF League this season.
“We promised to win in grand style and possibly to go invincible but unfortunately, that dream is shattered as we lost a couple of matches already but I still believe that we are going to win the league. I stand by that even though teams do not want us to win. We have the pedigree to do so. We have a couple of experienced players in our team and I hope the younger ones will learn from them to improve their carrier in the future,” Wadda added.
Real De Banjul who are currently leading The Gambia Football Federation National League Table with 36points, recently signed 37-year-old, Aziz Corr Nyang, former Gambian and Djurgarden star on a season-long loan. He is expected to feature in their fixture against city rivals Waa Banjul in their next fixture.
