Independent National Assembly Member for Latrikunda Sabiji and senior United Movement for Change (UMC) figure, Yahya Menteng Sanyang, remains in detention at Fajikunda Police Station after his initial bail was revoked.
Police cited new evidence and witness testimonies linking him to attempts to register minors using allegedly fraudulent birth certificates at a local registration center.
Authorities are investigating the case as document fraud by a sitting lawmaker, raising serious concerns about threats to electoral integrity ahead of the Dec polls. Sanyang denies the allegations.
