Police in the United States city of La Crosse, Wisconsin has found the body of young US -born Gambian in the Mississippi river after he went missing for three weeks.
The La Crosse Fire Department found the body of 25-year-old Hamud Faal in the Mississippi River, the police department said on Thursday.
According to local media reports, he was found after a proactive search in the area by firefighters.
According to the police, firefighters found the body of Faal in 25 feet of water near the Division Street landing, announcing they are continuing their investigation into his death and are waiting for autopsy results.
” The Police Department has learned Hamud was last seen on Sunday morning, February 20th, 2022 at 3:37 am walking alone southbound on Front Street just North of Jay Street. If you live or work in this area and are aware of video/camera systems, please check to see if Hamud may have been captured on your video system. We are also asking community members in this area to check your garages, storage areas, and properties for Hamud. Hamud’s family, UWL Student Life and the La Crosse Police Department, continue to partner in the search for Hamud.” La Crosse Police Department said in a statement on its official Facebook page at the time of Hamud’s missing.
