Born in the Gambia on 25th January 2005, Alieu moved to Belgium to join his family when he was just six and three months old in 2011.
The young prodigy Alieu Faal plays for the Cercle Bruge U18 team, where he recorded eight goals and three assists this season.
Due to his versatility, Alieu can play as a winger, defensive Midfielder, or sometimes as a wingback.
He has played 2739 minutes for the youth team of Cercle Brugge.
As a young boy, Alieu’s dream is to represent the country of his parents.
Following his exploit with the Cercle Bruge, Alieu has gained promotion to the club U21 for the upcoming championship.
When TAT Sports asked him if he would one day love to play for the Gambia, Faal said:
“My dream is to play for the Gambia one day, I am still young, but I am hopeful of playing for the Scorpions. Despite playing in Belgium, and I can choose to play for Belgium too, my dream is to wear the Gambian Jersey and play for my beloved country of birth,” said Faal.
Playing professional football is every child’s dream. Faal said he would like to continue playing club football with Cercle Bruge’s senior team in Belgium.
“to be honest, I want to play for the first team at Cercle Brugge. At some point in my career, I want to play in the English premier league, Spanish La Liga, or Italian Seria A.”
