Serrekunda East Sports Development Organization (SESDO) has qualified for the last four of this year’s Super Nawettan (Zonal) championship following their comfortable 2-nil triumph over rivals Banjul at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.

A goal in either half of the game by center-back Ebrima Sonko and star strike Lamin Kinteh’s superb strike were all but enough to give Serrekunda East a vital victory in their quarterfinal match and now book a place in the semi-finals.

Kebba Drammeh, assistant coach of Banjul, blamed the poor condition of Serrekunda West Park for defeat.

“We conceded two goals and eventually lost the game against East, but I believe the pitch also contributed to our defeat,” He told TAT Sports.

“We train on a very comfortable and level playing field on the artificial turf compared to the poor condition of the field we played today, but anyway, it’s a competition, and we will go back and be better prepared for the next edition,” the Coach said.

Ebrima Sarjo, Serrekunda East assistant coach, praises his side following their triumph over the City Boys, Banjul.

“This is a great victory for us as a team because we all know Banjul is one of the strongest teams in the competition. Playing against them is always difficult, but I am glad the boys win them,” Sarjo told TAT Sports.

“We are grateful to the people of Serrekunda East, especially our fans, as they always support us regardless of the results. They are always there motivating us, giving us extra energy whenever we are playing,” he said.
