Gambian foreign-based players leave for the international break with mixed reactions. In Estonia, both Ousman Ceesay and Abdoulie Ceesay found the back of the net, with the latter scoring a brace. Minteh and Ebrima Colley clubs settled for a draw while Alasana Manneh and James Gomez registered a victory.

England

Yankuba Minteh’s Brighton were held to a 1-1 draw by 10-Men Arsenal at the Emirates. Minteh’s relentless running and nifty footwork created the equaliser for Brighton after he danced past Gabriel and held him off with his strength before unleashing a powerful strike that was too strong for the keeper to handle. Raya parried the shot right in front of goal, only for Joao Pedro to tap home. Minteh lasted just over 70 minutes of the match.

There was back-to-back wins for the Rams at the Pride Park stadium following Saturday’s 3-0 win against Bristol City. Kenzo Goudmijn, Kayden Jackson, and David Ozoh were all on target, with Ebou Adams playing the entire game. Adams’ shot in the 21st minute failed to trouble Bristol goalkeeper Max O’Leary.

France

Metz hosted Stade Lavallois on matchday three of the Ligue 2. The meeting ended 1-1, and Ablie Jallow lasted the entire game.

Italy

Alieu Fadera made his debut for Como 1907 in the Italian Serie A as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 narrow defeat to Udinese Calcio on Sunday.

Belguim

10th place Standard Liege handed Mohammed Badamoesi his debut in their 2-0 away defeat to OH Leuven. Badamoesi replaced Benjdida in the 82nd minute.

Turkey

Ali Sowe has his goal cancelled in the 37th minute. Sowe’s goal was ruled offside. Rizespor tried to find the equaliser but failed as controversial VAR denied it in the 1-0 home defeat against Kasimpasa.

Switzerland

Ebrima Colley carried from where he left in Istanbul with his blistering form by providing an assist in a Young Boys 1-1 draw against Lausanne. Colley played the entire game and set up Swiss-born Filip for the opener in the 45th minute. The leveller came in the 70th as 10 men Young Boys searched for their first win of the season.

Denmark

Hamza Barry captained Vejle in their slim 1-0 defeat away to Lyngby as they sought their first win of the season. Musa Juwara returned to the starting lineup for the first time since matchday three. Jonathan Amon’s goal in the 21st minute settled the six-pointer meeting.

Odense BK continued their form following their 2-0 win over Vendsyssel FF. Both James Gomez and Alasana Manneh played the entire 90 minutes in securing their record eighth win ahead of the AC Horsens meeting after the international break.

Sweden

Mjällby moved fourth on the log following their 3-1 home win against Halmstad. Imam Jagne assisted Stroud for the third goal and was replaced by Abdoulie Manneh. The Gambia is after Jagne, who is currently representing the Swedish U21 side.

Estonia

Both Ousman Ceesay and Abdoulie Ceesay were on target in the Estonia Premium Liiga. With the latter scoring a brace in a Paide 4-2 away win against Kalju. The goal is a back-to-back goal for Abdoulie in the league. Ousman, who is on loan from Falcons, scored a towering header in a Nömme United 2-2 draw against Kuressaare in the Estonian Premium Liga on Sunday. Ceesay was making his fourth appearance and has started Nomme Utd’s last two league matches.
