Malick M. Jarju, the dynamic co-founder and managing director of Africa Energy Solutions (AES), has been named the recipient of the 2025 African Businessman Award in the category of Energy Industry Leader. This prestigious accolade, conferred by The Business Executive Communications Group, celebrates Jarju’s transformative contributions to sustainable energy solutions across Africa, recognizing his vision, leadership, and exemplary conduct in shaping the continent’s energy landscape.

Jarju, a young Gambian entrepreneur, has been lauded for his innovative approach at AES, a company dedicated to advancing renewable energy access and efficiency. His selection followed a rigorous, independent nomination and assessment process by an expert jury, highlighting his role as a trailblazer in the energy sector. “I am deeply honored by this recognition,” Jarju said in a statement. “It is both humbling and inspiring to be acknowledged for our efforts in driving sustainable energy solutions across Africa.”

The award will be presented at a five-star Gala Conferment Ceremony on November 3, 2025, at M. Hotel in Kigali, Rwanda. The exclusive, invitation-only event will bring together government dignitaries, multilateral executives, business leaders, diplomats, and international media, offering a platform for high-level networking and collaboration. Jarju will also participate in the Pan-African Business Conference earlier that day, a complimentary forum for awardees to discuss strategies for empowering African businesses on the global stage.

The award package includes access to new business opportunities, high-level networking, a month of free social media promotion, and a listing in the Africa’s Most Respected CEOs Award. Jarju’s recognition places him among an elite group of African business leaders whose achievements set benchmarks for corporate excellence and societal impact.

“I look forward to engaging with fellow leaders in Kigali to drive growth and innovation across the continent,” Jarju added. His work at AES has positioned the company as a key player in addressing Africa’s energy challenges, promoting sustainability, and fostering economic development.

The Business Executive Communications Group, in partnership with continental and global institutions, organizes the awards to celebrate role models like Jarju who are shaping Africa’s future.
