Sweden born Gambian Football player, Ida Mbaye is optimistic of victory over the lionesses of Cameroon in Yaoundé.
The senior women national team of The Gambia landed in Cameroon ahead of their double legged Africa Women Cup of Nation Qualifier against Cameroon on Friday 18th February 2022 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaoundé.
New inclusion (Ida Mbaye) is optimistic of a victory and qualification over the four times AWCON finalists.
“We are fully prepared both physically and mentally as the mood in camp is very high at the moment and that will really help us going into this tie against a very strong opponent,” she said, adding “it is an honour to be part of the team because the girls are very caring and welcoming”.
Ida Mbaye who was born to Gambian parents in Sweden started her career at Azalea BK in Sweden. She is currently playing for The Swedish club IFK Gothenburg.
