Senegalese Star, Sadio Mané is crowned African Cup of Nations Man of the Competition. Congratulations Mane

It was going to be a bad tournament for Sadio Mané after he squandered a penalty just after seven minutes, but Mané turned himself from a villain to a hero as he scored a winning penalty to earn Senegal their first ever AFCON title in history.

From the start, Senegal attacked Egypt with precision and verve, but the Egyptians stayed glued to their cautious approach which makes it impossible for Senegal to find a way past the Egypt backline.

Egypt goalkeeper Gabaski could be credited for keeping his line intact and after 120 minutes of football, the two were separated by a penalty shootout. Abdelmonem and Lasheen erred for Egypt even though Bouna Sarr had his shot saved by Gabaski, but Mané had time to make amends for his penalty miss in the game as he scored the winning penalty to earn Senegal their first AFCON title in history.

Egypt has now gone 16 years without registering a win over Senegal, even though the Pharaohs have won six of their 13 meeting with Senegal, with the Lions of Taranga now winning five times.
