Gambian international goalkeeper Ebrima Jarju has played his 11th game as he continues his fine exploits in Estonia.

The agile shot-stopper has kept five clean sheets so far and has made the team of the week list three times.

” In joining Paide, I was the third goalkeeper. I had no choice because it was a chance to kick-start my career. It was difficult, but my concentration level was high, and I know I am a winner. I knew the task ahead and adopted very fast as a goalkeeper,” Ebrima told Alkamba Times Sports.

“I was pushing extra hard and had few games under my belt with the U21. So I discussed it with the coach in March, who told me he would make me the number two goalkeeper and I should add more. Then, after three weeks, he told me he would start me against Kalev. Since then, I normally play two to three games monthly.”

“Our priority and target are to finish third and return to Europa league conference qualifiers. This season I learned a lot. I was used to playing week in and week out in the Gambia. It has taught me how to come from behind to forward, from being a third-choice goalkeeper to a second-choice goalkeeper. However, I need more clean sheets and better statistics to go to the next level.”

Ebrima has also set his sight on the Gambian national team, hoping to get the chance and prove his mettle.

“National team has always been my priority. I have a big ambition with the scorpions. I want to fulfill to be comfortable.” He said.
