New signings make their debut as Ebrima Colley scores

Alkamba Times brings you the weekend roundup, as it features all Gambian foreign-based players.

New signings Ebou Adams, Ebrima Darboe, and Adama Sidibeh all made their first appearance over the weekend, while Colley, Saikou Touray, and Alfusainey Jatta found the back of the net.

Turkey

MKE Ankaragücü’müz played a goalless draw against Sivasspor. Ali Sowe led the front line and lasted for 73 minutes. The Ankara-based club has won two of its last five matches and sits in 11th place with 29 points.

Omar Colley was ruled out of the Besiktas game against Trabzonspor due to fever. The black eagles went on to win the game by 2-0 courtesy of Semih Kılıçsoy’s brace.

England

Ebou Adams made his debut for the Rams in their 1-0 away win against Charlton. Adams key moment came when he brilliantly got back and prevented a cutback from Tyreeq Bakinson, with Alfie May waiting centrally. Adams debut lasted for 72 minutes. The former Forest Green star will be featuring when the Rams welcome Shrewsbury Town in the Pride Park stadium.

The Hatters drew 1-1 against Harrogate, meaning they have now drawn their last three home matches. Ibou Touray replaced Hales in the 45+1minutes, with Ibby starting the last two games from the bench.

Jackob Mendy was a late substitute as he was introduced in the 90th minute in Wrexham’s away defeat at the Peninsula Stadium.

Mixed results continued for Swindon Town as they lost 2-1 against Newport County on Saturday. Saidou Khan played full throttle.

Scotland

Swedish forward Benjamin Kimpioka’s lone goal was enough for the Saints to defeat Ross County 1-0. Adama Sidibeh, who joined the Saints for an undisclosed fee from Northern Premier League club Warrington Rylands on transfer deadline day, was on the bench. His debut at Dingwall came in the 59th minute when he replaced goal scorer Benjamin Kimpioka.

France

Adama Bojang made his fourth Ligue 1 appearance Stade de Reims 3-2 defeat against Toulouse FC. Bojang replaced Munesti in the 76th minute as the Red and Whites pushed for an equaliser after falling 3-0 in the first half.

Four stars GF38 beat Caen 5-1 at the Stade des Alpes. Gambian duo Saikou Touray and Abdoulie Sanyang were introduced in the 85th minute respectively. Touray went on to score in the 90+5 minutes to bring his goal tally to two goals in 12 appearances in Ligue 2.

Switzerland

Young Boys extended their lead at the top of the table following their 1-0 win over Lausanne, thanks to Ebrima Colley’s 8th-minute goal. Saidy Janko also played the full throttle.

Italy

Ebrima Darboe was handed his debut in a 2-2 draw against Modena in the Serie B. Darboe was brought on in the 72nd minute.

Sheikh Sibi lasted 45 minutes and was forced to be replaced following an injury in the Virtus Verona 1-1 draw against Padova. Sibi was coming off a remarkable performance against LR Vicenza, for which he was named man of the match.

Isarel

Abubacarr Barry scored his fourth goal of the season in a 2-1 Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv win over Ironi Tiberias. Abu scored an individual, brilliant goal.

UAE

Alfusainey Gassama scored a header to open his goal-scoring account for Dibba FC. Gassama, whose goal took his tally to 11 goals, scored a header in a 2-2 draw against AL Dahaid.

Bangaldesh

Pa Omar Babou has now brought his goal contribution to four goals (2 goals + 2 assists) in six games. He scored and assisted in Fortis FC’s 2-2 win against Brothers Union. Babou levelled the scores from the spot in the 41st minute and set up the equaliser for Valeriy Gryshyn in the 78th minute.
