Three People including 2 Journalists Die in Fatal Car Crash

At least three people including two former Journalists have been confirmed dead in a fatal car crash along the TransGambia highway around Soma, the Alkamba times can report.

Journalist Pa Modou Faal, a veteran of over 20 years and Musa Ndow, one time Senior Editor of the former Daily Observer and one Kawsu Bayo, a health worker all died after the car they were traveling in crashed in Jiffin, the first settlement in the Jarra area early Monday morning.

Mr. Faal was a senior executive member of the Gambia Press union who later joined the ministry of health with Musa Ndow as press and communications officials.

Reports say they were on a health education mission attending a four day workshop in Soma, Lower River Region.

Both journalists are survived with wives and children.

This is the latest among a series of fatal road accidents that have rocked the hinterland and inner city areas due to poor road networks, inadequate highway lighting and overspeeding.

He is also a co-founder of the Banjul-based Media Center for Research and Development, an institution dedicated to research and development initiatives. As a journalist and communication expert dedicated to supporting the Gambia's transitional process, Mr. Sainey M.K. Marenah plays a significant role in developing a media and communications platform aimed at enhancing civic participation and raising awareness of the requirements for transitional governance. His efforts contribute to the country's ongoing movement toward democratization. In addition to his work in Gambia, Mr. Marenah has traveled extensively across Europe, Africa, and the United States as a professional journalist and has participated in various local and international media training programs.
