Meet a 38 years old gentleman who dropped out of school seventeen years ago due to financial issues but gathered the courage to return to school; thanks to the Second Chance Education Program introduced by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education-(MoBSE).

While on a content gathering mission in Rural Schools for the soon-to-start MoBSE Education Forum Program, the MoBSE Communication Team visited Kaiaf Upper and Senior Secondary School where we came across Wandifa Marong, a 38-year-old Grade 11Arts student preparing to write to his end of term examination.

Neatly dressed in his senior school uniform with a bag on his back, Wandifa recounts how he was able to encourage himself to return to school after being a dropout for seventeen years.

“Thanks to the Second Chance Education Program introduced by the Ministry of Education, my dream of completing senior school will soon become a reality.
Although I face a lot of mockery from some community members who felt I am too old to be in school, my passion to learn keeps me going”
Both the school principal, teachers, and Wandifa’s Classmates, hailed him for his determination.
They described him as a very industrious student who is very obedient, regular, and punctual.

Wandifa Marong dreams of furthering his education to become a lawyer once he completes Kaiaf Senior School.
