Susso close to double figures; Baboucarr Faal opens account in the Ukrainian Premier League

England
Leicester ended their 13-hour wait for a league goal when Stephy Mavididi scored the equalizer at the Amex stadium. Saturday’s results mean Fabian Hurzeler’s side stays ninth, six points off the top five. Wingers Yankuba Minteh and Simon Adingra missed opportunities for the Seagulls. The Seagulls began brightly enough with Yankuba Minteh just unable to turn home Adingra’s deep cross, while the latter also fired narrowly off target before Joao Pedro opened the scoring.

Derby secured a 2-2 draw against Pompey. The Rams took the lead twice only to be pegged back. Captain Ebou Adams came close to finding the back of the net only to be denied by the head of defender Freddie Potts, who blocked the final chance.

Italy
Tasos Douvikas was the hero as his header lifted Como well clear of the relegation zone. Alieu Fadera, who hasn’t featured in the last three matches, was introduced in the 83rd minute when he replaced Assane Diao.

Sheikh Sibi and Virtus Verona secured an important win against LR Vicenza by beating league leaders 2-1. Sunday’s victory made the Verona-based team secure the playoff spot for the third time in five years. Sheikh Sibi made four crucial saves in the tense match.

France
Ablie Jallow, who was introduced in the 75th minute, went on to extend Metz’s lead in the 81st minute. The goal at the Stade Francis Turcan was the Gambian fourth league goal of the season. Friday’s victory has propelled the Grenats temporarily into second position with 60 points.

Sweden
Abdoulie Manneh was involved in Mjällby AIK’s three goals as the visitors beat BK Häcken 3-0. Just before the break. Manneh shot on target, hit the post, and Axel Norén got the better of the return. Manneh extended Mjällby’s lead in the 72nd minute, connecting a well-placed pass and not making any mistakes. Three minutes later, the Gambian passed Nicklas Røjkjær for the third goal.
In the Swedish Superettan, Kalmarr FF are flying high following their 3-1 away win against IK Oddevold, which put them on top of the league with seven points after three matches played. Gibril Sosseh, who made his home debut against Sundsvall, was given another 45 minutes on Friday.

Estonia
Paide moved within one point on top of the league following their 2-1 victory over Harju JK. Muhammed Suso played the entire match while Pa Assan Corr was handed his first start of the season. Elsewhere in the Estonian Premium Liiga, Levadia drew goalless against Flora in the Tallinn derby.

Slovenia
Susso Bamba has found the back of the net in NK Aluminij’s last three league matches, thus taking his goal tally to 9 goals in 15 matches. Susso scored the equalizer in the 32nd minute against ND Dravinja Kostroj.

Slovakia
Mahmudu Bajo completed 25 out of 34 accurate passes, 4 out of 6 long balls, 4 out of 7 duels, 3 interceptions, 2 tackles, and 1 clearance with 46 touches for his side DAC 1904 in their 2-2 draw against Slovan Bratislava on Sunday.

Ukraine
Baboucarr Faal, who has been coming off the bench for Rukh Lviv, got the last laugh as he scored his first league goal in the Ukrainian Premier League on Saturday. His goal forced a draw against second place FC Oleksandriyay.

Bangladesh
Solomon Kanform’s return to Bangladesh is gaining momentum as the former Sheikh Jamal skipper won back-to-back Man of the Match awards. Solomon, who scored against in the FF cup, assisted Ghana’s Samuel Boateng as Rahmatganj doubled their lead in the first half against Chittagong. Rahmatgang is currently sitting on fourth positions with 11 points.

Pa Omar Babou registered his fourth league goal as Fortis secured a 2-0 win against Brothers Union. The match, which featured three Gambians, saw Pa Omar extending Fortis lead in the 60th minute. Saturday’s results has sent Fortis to fifth position on the log of the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football.

I started my journalism career as a football analyst in 2012 with Vibes FM and went on to work with CityLimit, West Coast, Hot FM, Freedom Radio, Eye Africa and Afri Radio as a content producer and presenter.
