The Gambian foreign-based weekend roundup produced a milestone as Ablie Jallow made his 150th appearance for Metz in France, Alassana Jatta scored his 15th league goal of the season, and Ali Sowe continued his goalscoring form.

Alieu Fadera also returned to help Como beat Napoli 2-1 in Serie A on Sunday. The biggest talking point is Adama Bojang, who broke the goal drought in Grasshopper’s 2-2 draw against Lausanne in the Swiss League.

England
Brighton & Hove Albion climbed to eighth in the Premier League following their biggest win of the season. Joao Pedro, Georginio Rutter, Kaoru Mitoma, and Jack Hinshelwood were on target against Southampton as they walloped the Saints 4-0 at St Mary’s Park.

It could have been more convincing. Yankuba Minteh twice squandered easy chances with only Aaron Ramsdale to beat while Carlos Baleba hit the post late on.

Yankuba Minteh assisted Rutter for what was his eighth goal of the season; he slid home Minteh’s low cross in the 56th minute.
Fabian Hurzeler’s thoughts…

On Yankuba Minteh’s threat… “Minteh made a lot of runs to attack the box and their defense. Of course, he also wants to score but if he keeps creating chances he will score the goals.

Saturday’s victory has sent Notts County to third position, one point shy of Wimbledon and two points further off Doncaster in the League Two standings. Jatta scored his 15th league goal; his initial header hit the woodwork, and the rebound found him on the ground as he made no mistake by planting it past the Tranmere Rovers goalkeeper.

Italy

Assane Diao and an Amir Rrahmani own goal gave Como a 2-1 Serie A victory over title contenders Napoli. Alieu Fadera returned from suspension and was brought in the 81st minute; the former Genk player helped Como to defend their lead. The Lombardi-based club has added Napoli to the teams (Atalanta, Roma, and Fiorentina) beaten this season. Napoli had not lost since the 1-0 defeat by Lazio on December 8.

Sheikh Sibi kept his eighth clean sheet of the season in a remarkable fashion as Virtus won their fifth game in a row. The hosts kept on knocking and had most of the chances, coming in the first twenty minutes, with Sibi making a decisive save in the 20th minute, and moments later, they took the lead. Arzignano kept on pushing even in the second half, with Sibi registering three crucial saves as they saw off Arzignano to move to fifth position in the Serie C.

France

Metz FC dropped to fourth position following their 1-0 home defeat to Ajaccio. Ablie Jallow replaced Deminguet in the 72nd minute to make his 150th appearance for the Grenats. Metz were on a 12-game unbeaten run before Ben Hamed Touré’s goal in the stroke of the 90th minute.

Saikou Touray was making his 13th appearance of the season as Grenoble F38 drew 1-1 against EA Guingamp. Saikou has come off the bench in the last two league matches.

Switzerland

Adama Bojang scored a brace in a span of five minutes as the former Steve Biko striker opened his senior professional goal. However, Lausanne scored late to secure a point.

Ebrima Colley assisted Jaouen Hadjams two minutes after he was introduced as Young Boys beat Lugano 1-0 at the Wankdorf stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Turkey
Rizespor came from behind to secure a 3-2 win over Samsunspor. Ali Sowe scored the equalizer in the 85th minute and two minutes later found the winner. Ali now has 12 league goals, scoring six goals in the last five matches. Ali is placed fifth in the Turkish Super League leading goalscorer chart.

Croatia
Abdoulie Sanyang has comfortably nailed his position in the starting XI, having started the last five league games. Saturday’s 4-0 for Hajduk Split saw Bamba only taking part within half an hour. However, he went to assist Marko Livaja’s second goal of the night.

Sweden
Both Mjällby AIF and Kalmar registered a convincing win over the weekend in the Swedish Cup. Mjällby beat Gefle 5-0 with Abdoulie Manneh both scoring and assisting. Manneh found the back of the net in the 38th minute after rounding the goalkeeper. He went on to assist Måns Isaksson in what was the final action of the game.

Kalmar FF, on the other hand, secured a 3-1 victory over Varberg BOIS. Gibril Sosseh replaced Saku Ylätupa in the 47th minute for his second appearance for Kalmar.

Ebrima Bajo kept his spot in the starting XI for Helsingborg, who eventually lost 4-1 at home against BK Häcken.

Estonia

Bubacarr 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗼𝘂 won his fourth career trophy following 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮 3-2 victory over Kajlu. Tambedou came off the bench in the 61st and went on to score the winner in the 83rd minute to win his first Estonian Super Cup.
